We’re back – our Walks’ programmes are resuming this month!
In line with Government Guidelines on the re-starting of organised sport and recreation from 29 March, and following procedures established by the Ramblers, we are re-starting our guided walks this month.
Our weekend walks will resume on Saturday 17 April and our weekly Tuesday short walks will resume on 20 April.
Our programme until the end of May will be:
Saturday 17 April Houghton Hall/Poslingford 6 miles
Saturday 15 May Mystery Walk 3 miles
Tuesday 25 May Nordic Walk 5 miles
Monday 31 May (BH) Cavendish Circular 7 miles
Short Walks (2miles) will begin on Tuesday 20 April and will take place every Tuesday thereafter.
All these walks are circular. They will start from the Old Goods Shed in the Country Park at 10.15 (Tuesday short walks 10.15 for 10.30). Numbers on each walk will be limited to 20, plus leaders.
The weekend and Tuesday walks need to be booked by e-mailing info@clarewalks.co.uk
The Nordic Walk needs to be booked at www.nordicwalkingeastanglia.co.uk
We shall be following the Ramblers Association arrangements, details of which can be seen at www.ramblers.org.uk
Please do join us for these walks, but also get involved…………..
We are looking for people across the community to join our teams that plan and lead our walks, and monitor footpaths. We are interested in hearing from you, regardless of experience or the amount of time you can commit. Full training will be given, and you can commit as much, or as little, time as you wish. Some people are scared off by the idea of leading a walk, but we are seeking people who can be part of the planning team, and who are perhaps happy to back or middle mark. No-one need lead a walk unless they are really comfortable doing so. We are keen to develop new walking opportunities and this is a chance to get involved in helping to shape our future as we emerge from coronavirus restrictions. To find out more, please e-mail info@clarewalks.co.uk or telephone 01787 277335.
